Gold likes to pocket and by prospecting correctly, you will in the end, move as little material as needed. A small shovel with a long handle works great for digging pockets, as a walking stick, and critter guard.

Three plastic buckets stacked together with a strap over the shoulder can be used for a seat (bkt 1), gathering material to be worked (bkt 2), quick wash for primary and secondary matting (bkt 3).

The Gold Cradle even has room in it to carry home a little extra trash that might be found while in the outdoors. Plastic bags from grocery stores make good litter catchers.
